3 Ways to Fix LED Flashing Problem on Samsung Gear IconX 2018

When you buy a brand new thing from a trusted brand, then you don’t feel like getting into troubles, but it is the fact that a simple mistake from us or the company can lead to frustration. The article is all about fixing the red LED flashing problem on Samsung Gear IconX 2018. The methods are from my experience, and I have written and shown what I did to fix the issue.

According to the manual

  1. If the LED light is green, that means case or earbud is fully charged.
  2. When the LED light is red, that means it is charging.
  3. If the LED light is flashing red, that means charging is disabled due to low battery or environmental problems.

Anyway, it did work for the first time, then after using them for like ten minutes I put them on the charge, the right one was charging, and it got fully charged, but still, the left one was flashing. I checked the Samsung Wearable app to see the battery and found out the battery of left was low. I tried everything to find out where I’m missing. After searching for like half an hour I found two solutions, the first one did not work, but the second one did. Now, in this article, I’m going to put the second one on the top to see if it permanently fixes the problem.

Now, I don’t know what have you done, but after using for the first time, the default ear tips and wingtips were big for my ear, so I changed them with small ones. Before switching, I did not realise that wingtips need to be placed on the correct side. Each Wingtip has written the side on it. So, if you have changed the ear tips and wingtips then double-check if you have placed the wingtips on the correct side. If yes then make sure the wingtips and ear tips are correctly placed on the earbud.

If the above method did not fix the problem, then I still have a temporary fix. You can temporarily fix the issue until I find a permanent one. I checked a YouTube video, and according to that guy, there might be a problem with the pushing force of the case. Try putting a piece of paper in the case and see if it works.

Putting a piece of paper will help the case force the earbud to touch all the charging dots. With enough push, the earbud will surely charge.

Fix Red LED Flashing in Samsung Gear IconX 2018 – Way 03

While testing the Gear IconX, one of my earbuds fell off from the headphone. After applying the ear tip back, I encountered the same problem. Again, I thought there is a problem with the wingtip. I checked, and everything was fine. So, I removed the ear tip from the earbud entirely and placed the earbud on charging. The case started to charge it without any issues. If none of the above methods works, try removing the ear tips and place the earbud in the case. This is a temporary fix, and every time you will have to remove the ear tips to charge them, but if it works, then it will save you $100 for new earphones.

  2. Thanks MK, the solution for me at least, was to interchange the wing support that was not align with the safety support. It also fits better with greater confort to my ears also. Great video, great article, thanks again

  3. Hi does anyone have an issue where after fully charging your earbuds the left earbud drains much faster even when its placed in a fully charged charging case.

    After an hour or so the right bud will be at 100% but the left would have drained to say 40%.

    Very frustrating as the left bud eventually drains the charging case in a day or so

    1. That seems like a problem with the bud itself. You can try resetting the bud(s). Hopefully, it’ll fix. Otherwise, there is a battery issue with the bud.
