One of my friends uses Youper, and he suggested me to write a Youper app review because he likes the way the app helps him. Dealing with emotions is not one person’s job. You need someone to take care of you, guide you, and track your goals.
These days technology has changed so many things, and with the help of AI, so many tasks are achievable. Youper is an application with a mission of helping the world with anxiety and depression. The blog post is going to explore this little app called Youper and see what we can do and learn.
What is Youper
If you haven’t heard that Youper raised $3 million in seed funding, then you don’t know what it is. Youper – Emotional Health offers an AI-based chatbot with a mission to make you happy, motivated and achieve your goals. The app’s team is run by Dr Jose Hamilton, a psychiatrist in San Francisco, California.
How can the chatbot help you?
The app is primarily developed for people who are dealing with depression and anxiety-related issues. The bot uses AI to ask you questions about your goals and feelings. Depending on the questions, there are few options to choose from. As you keep going, the bot shows you what is it that you are experiencing? How can you deal with these issues, etc.?
The first time when you open the app, it asks if you would like to have a daily session. If yes, then the app will remind you of the session at the select time. You can also chat with the bot any time by opening the app.
The bot has a feature of tracking the conversation (each sentence). In the Mind tab, you’ll find the record of the conversation with the reason for those sessions. Tapping a conversation goes to the full discussion. You can delete or change the conversation date.
Another feature of Youper app is insights. Like conversations, the app keeps tracks of our feelings and activities as we reveal our feelings in session. It creates a line chart to understand past life and turnovers. As you go and chat with the AI, new rewards are unlocked in the insights tab.
The health tool is for premium users. With the help of AI, it identifies whether you have any symptoms of any of the below:
- Borderline Personality
- Post-traumatic Stress
- Social Anxiety
The app checks for signs and gives you ideas to help you feel better. You have an option to choose one at the beginning, but you can always add more and delete on Manage Health Monitoring screen.
Free vs premium
The free version comes with mood tracker, insights, and personality test. While the paid version offers above three plus cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness and meditation, journaling, intentions, gratitude, and symptoms monitoring tools. The yearly plan comes with a 7-day free trial. You can subscribe to the monthly plan for 12.90/m, the annual plan for $54.99/y, or the lifetime plan for $374.99.
